About Lehman Community Engagement

Welcome to Williams' student-run community service club!

Bursting the Purple Bubble

Lehman Community Engagement connects students with service projects in the wider Berkshire community. At Lehman, we believe that the Williams campus is as big as you want it to be. By getting involved in the greater community, you not only expand your horizons, but your learning, friendships, and memories.

Here are some of the opportunities Lehman connects students to:

  • Animal Outreach

  • Education Outreach

  • Environmental and Farm Outreach

  • Food Insecurity

  • Homeless Insecurity

  • Medicine and Public Health

  • Prison Outreach

  • Elderly Outreach

Great Day of Service

Once a semester, Lehman hosts "The Great Day of Service," a day for the entire campus to come together to do service projects in the wider community, such as painting horse sheds at Bonnie Lea Farm (above) or volunteering at the Berkshire Humane Society. The Great Day of Service is a spectacular opportunity to bond with your entry, team, or club.

What else do we do?

Lehman hosts local farm volunteer days, Veteran's and Valentine's Day cardmaking, and Winter Study Service Week, during which we have service opportunities available every day of MLK week. We also organize opportunities like the remote support program, which connects student volunteers with local nonprofits and businesses, and creating instruction sheets for art projects that elementary schoolers can do from home. Additionally, we recruit freshmen for our First Year Ambassadors program and help them complete service projects that they're interested in.
